Building fire – St Ives - Huntingdonshire

At 6.47pm on Thursday (24) crews from Huntingdon, Chatteris and Gamlingay were called to a fire on Somersham Road in St Ives.

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire in a workshop building. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and a jet. The crews returned to their stations by 10.20pm.

An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.

Update - 12.30pm

The investigation has concluded the cause of the fire was accidental.
