Salary: £59,465 - £69,036 per annum

Hours: 37 Hours per week 

Contract: Two years fixed term contract

Location: Service Headquarters, Huntingdon

Hybrid Working - we offer a flexible, agile, hybrid working pattern where you can work from home, as well as from Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service and other locations around Cambridgeshire. This role may be accommodated flexibly around meetings and other engagements, with a requirement to work a minimum of two days per week in the office.

 

About the role 

This is a key leadership role at the heart of our Service, responsible for ensuring our estates, fleet, operational equipment, and supporting infrastructure enable the delivery of safe, effective, and resilient services to our communities. Leading multidisciplinary teams across Asset Management, you will ensure firefighters and staff have the facilities, vehicles, and equipment they need to perform at their best.

Working closely with senior leaders, operational colleagues, and external partners, you will shape and deliver long-term asset strategies, oversee significant investment programmes, and drive continuous improvement across estates, fleet, and equipment. You will play a critical role in balancing operational needs, compliance requirements, sustainability ambitions, and value for money, ensuring our assets remain fit for the future.

About you:   

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences, but the ideal person will have:

  • ILM Level 5 (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Fire Sector requirements around estates and fleet.
  • Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills to a range of audiences.
  • Leadership of asset portfolios, capital projects, and technical teams.
  • Significant evidence of producing quality outputs within deadline and budget
  • Senior-level experience in estates, fleet, or asset management within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of sector procurement
