Fire in the open - Waterbeach - South Cambs

At 7.46pm on Friday (1) crews from Cottenham and Ely were called to a fire in the open on Ely Road in Waterbeach.

Crews arrived to find a large plume of smoke coming from the location. Firefighters used hose reels to extinguish a fire involving refuse and returned to their stations by 10.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

The area was reinspected for hotspots the following morning.
