House fire - Ely - East Cambs

At 12.34am on Thursday (18) crews from Ely and Sutton were called to a house fire on New Barns Avenue in Ely. 

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan. 

Crews returned to their stations by 2.40am. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.  

Crews returned later in the morning to check for hotspots.
