Huntingdon firefighters rescue trapped hedgehog

Firefighters from Huntingdon Fire Station came to the aid of a trapped hedgehog today (July 23). 

The crew, from the station’s green watch, were called by a concerned member of the public in Huntingdon at around midday. They arrived to find the hedgehog stuck in a drainpipe. 

A fire service spokesperson said: “The hedgehog had fallen into an open drain and got itself wedged in a pipe. We managed to safely rescue it safely and returned it to the wild.” 

The crew was back at the station by 1pm.
