Field fire - March - Fenland

At 3.24pm on Saturday (25) crews from March, Wisbech, Huntingdon and the north roaming fire engine, alongside crews from Outwell and West Walton in Norfolk and a specialist 4x4 vehicle from Burwell were called to a field fire on Elm Road in March.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a static caravan that had spread to plant machinery and a field. They used hose reels and beaters to get the fire under control and to prevent further spread.

The incident was later scaled down. Crews will be reinspecting the area overnight to continue checking for hotspots and to make the area safe.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
